The Devil does not want you in Honduras.

One thing that is guaranteed in the walk of a Christ follower, is that there is going to be ups and downs--- there will be trials, there will be suffering. It is the path we have chosen.

Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

~1 Peter 5:8

Whether you are a seasoned missionary, first time missionary, or someone still waiting to come on a trip, let's be clear about one thing: The devil does not want you in Honduras.

A week away from your busy, every day life--- serving God in another country, worshiping all day long in different ways, sharing the Gospel--- this is not what the enemy wants.

And so spiritual warfare begins... it starts before you even decide you are coming:

"I can't afford this trip, I have too many other bills to pay."

"Honduras is the most dangerous place in the world right now."

"There are people here in the U.S. that need help more."

While all of these statements may be true, if God is calling you to Honduras then in the words of our Executive Dreamer, Brad Wentz, the safest place for you to be is in the center of God's will.

Then you decide to come on a trip and the weeks leading up to leaving are difficult--- possible financial issues coming up again, sickness, a family crisis, your wife is getting on your case about leaving AGAIN, your family says it is too dangerous.

The devil does not want you in Honduras.

Then you make it there, to Pinalejo, and you begin serving Jesus through the mission--- in the center of God's will, right? But it is HOT. The days are LONG. There is that one team member working your nerves. The food just isn't sitting right.

The devil does not want you in Honduras.

So many lives have already been changed this week by the work of the team through serving Christ. The kingdom of God is growing in numbers daily. People are getting treated medically. New dreams are being created for the future of the mission. Those that had little to live for, now have hope. Team members are growing closer to Christ, closer to each other, and seeing God work in amazing ways.

Do not forget that there is a spiritual battle going on all around us. However, looking more closely at that verse in 1 Peter----verse 7 starts with

Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you. Be sober-minded and alert.

We are called to lay these problems, these thoughts, these barriers at the feet of Jesus and to also be on the look out for the devil trying to get in the way.

Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

Please join me in praying for the team as they hit the mid week of their time in Honduras. Join me in praying for all those they come in contact with. Join me in praying for their loved ones at home. Join me in praying for those that are on the fence about coming on a trip in the future.

The devil does not want you in Honduras, but the battle belongs to the Lord!
